Treetops and Thoughts || Max && Alys.
Alys returned Max’s embrace, resting her head on his chest. Once he released her, she looked at the floor, wondering how she had actually been. “How’ve I been? Different, most definitely. Not in the good sense though.” She said, looking up at him and offering him a small smile. It wasn’t his or Mia’s fault for her change. A lot had happened when both of them had left. She had just lost her spark, her positivity. It had slowly been coming back without them, but now they were here, she was back to her usual self. “What about you?” She asked with a brighter smile, glad that she could change the subject. She wasn’t one of her favourite subjects.
Max’s features contorted to an expression of concern once she had expressed that she hadn’t changed in a good sense. His brow furrowed against the worry lines in his forehead, and he raked his fingers through his darkened hair as his eyes scanned her over. “What’s that suppose to mean?” He questioned, hesitantly allowing the change in subject.
“I, uh. Ahah.” He chuckled bitterly in spite of the situation he had been wrapped up in. He wouldn’t burden her with the thought. “I’ve been okay, y’know?”
